My Students

Our classroom is a place where students feel comfortable taking risks and being challenged to think critically.

My students are diverse in every sense of the word.

Most of them come to me with a love for learning, but some have to be shown that love. I have some students who love to be seen and heard and others who are quiet and shy. My school is supportive of its teachers, and I am proud of my community and school district.

My Project

The shift to the digital age has caused many of our enrichment and intervention programs provided by our school to be done on the computer. Our classroom has 4 computers that the students are using throughout the day. I also provide students with my personal iPad to support their learning. This is simply not enough (imagine 21 students rotating through 4 computers every school day). My 4th grade students are eager to see what the resources have to offer them and are motivated to see progress being made throughout the programs. Students use the computers for Math fluency and reading comprehension. With 1 extra technology resource, an iPad, to utilize throughout the day, I will be able to provide the necessary time for students to reach their goals and give those students who do not have Internet access at home the opportunity to use the computer on a consistent basis.

By donating to this project, you are allowing my students the opportunity to reach beyond their goals and explore the world during a critical foundation year of learning.

Having access to more technology will allow students to have more 1 on 1 time with the computers, prepare them for the future and give students in my class access to the Internet who do not have it at home.
