My students need two laptops for our technology center. We are also in need of the TIME For Kids subscriptions and Scholastic Action Magazine for our reading center.
Remember current events? Imagine being an 8th grader and not knowing what is happening in the world around them or where we are in the world. My class is in need of a technology center which will have laptops as well as informational children's magazine's.
I work as a special education teacher at a District 75 school in the South Bronx I teach 7th and 8th graders.
There are 12 students in my class as well as one paraprofessional.
My students are wonderful and really want to learn. They all have individual classroom needs and with the right resources will be very successful.
My Project
Since my students require more small group instruction, I have designed learning centers in my classroom. I will incorporate a technology center with these laptops for students to learn the skills that they need to succeed inside and outside of the classroom now and in the future.
Anything that my students receive will make a difference in the classroom.
The donations for this project will allow my students to connect with the world through technology as well as learn how to conduct research using both computers and informational texts, such as TIME For Kids, to enhance their skill set.
