Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Many of the Common Core standards are asking students to develop their technological proficiency. Fortunately, our class is a part of a test run of Ipads in the classroom! We are really enjoying getting on our feet and using the technology to enhance our learning curriculum.
Technology exposure is a huge benefit for my students because many of them do not have access to technology at home.
Since our goal is to prepare them for the future, I believe that technology will play a substantial role in whatever career they choose. I feel blessed to have resources to share with these students. They are learning how to manipulate the Ipads a little more each day. They make me so proud! Every lesson we being is met with an enthusiastic, "Are we using Ipads today?" As a result, I try to use them as much as possible because I know they make a difference in terms of student time on task and engagement.
My Project
The Apple TV & Remote will benefit the students by permitting them to input from anywhere in the classroom through a projector. How is this beneficial? Students can share resources found instantaneously by mirroring their iPad onto our classroom projector. This mirroring tool will allow us to learn from each other and allow students to share their findings. This ability to have students share with the class builds their confidence because they step into the role of teacher. Additionally, it allows me to be up and walking around the classroom to monitor students more closely. It also gives the feel of an interactive classroom because I am no longer tied to my seat at the front of the room.
This project will make a difference because it will give students the opportunity to interact with the technology in a larger capacity.
Furthermore, it gives them the ability to become the teacher and sharer in the classroom. Lastly, it provides me, the teacher, the opportunity to interact with the classroom and monitor students as they complete their work.
