I teach 5th grade in a title 1 elementary school. Many of our students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and receive free or reduced-rate lunch.
My students are enthusiastic about new ideas, and they are eager to share their knowledge.
My students come to school each day with a renewed desire to learn and thrive within the classroom. They are motivated to achieve goals and become their best self. I am there to help guide them, but they take their education into their own hands through discovery and collaboration.
My Project
Our students are blessed with one to one technology. Each student has a Chromebook they are able to use in school. This year, I have seen a need for headphones and computer mouses. There are many resources students have access to that require them to watch videos. Unfortunately without the headphones, students would miss out of these amazing, educational videos. Also, a computer mouse would give students more control when engaging in educational content online. There were several cases where we couldn't control the mouse effectively enough with the touchpad of a Chromebook to engage with an educational project online. I wish and hope to give my students the most effective and efficient technology experience within education.
