I teach ninth and tenth grade algebra 1 and geometry students. They are a resilient group of students with a drive and passion for new things and compassion for others, always. My students are interested in new ways to learn math because most struggle with traditional methods used in a math classroom.
Each of my students come into my classroom with unique life experiences, individual interests, and incredible contributions to each lesson, activity, conversation, and day.
My students work collaboratively, very often, to build valuable real-world skills. My classes love to do their math work on temporary surfaces which makes me so happy because it increases their confidence in their abilities as we prepare for the critical state tests.
My Project
We live in a technology driven society, and my students love it! Having these Chromebooks in class would help me bring technology based lessons in math to my students. With these Chromebooks, I will be able to use online resources for my students such as Desmos for graphing, videos for students to watch for clarification of topics, and practice sites for state tests.
With these Chromebooks, my students will have the opportunity to connect the technology they can access every day to the mathematical content taught in class.
I want to add as many twenty-first century skills to my classroom as possible and bring technology opportunities to my students to help them prepare for the technology driven world after high school.
