My students need 2 Chromebook laptops to do research for classroom projects.
This project expired on April 21, 2017.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
I teach in a large school with 900 students who all qualify to receive free breakfast and lunch. I teach 24 1st graders who are English Language Learners. My students come from families with limited resources but a vast desire for their children to succeed. Parents often work two and three jobs to make ends meet. When I talk to them, I see the hope they have for their children to have a better life. Despite the hardships my students face, they come to school eager to learn and with a smile on their faces. My goal as their teacher is to foster a life-long love for learning and encourage them to be risk-takers.
My students are very curious and eager to learn. Whenever a student brings up a question I'm unsure about, I'll google it on my phone and share the answer aloud with my students. As they anxiously wait, one of the students whined, "Why don't we have computers in the classroom?" If I want my students to become 21st Century Learners, technology must be incorporated to the all subjects.
My students need the computers to research information on different topics.
They need to gather information to be able to do presentations.
My students want to be informed on a variety of topics and what better way to do this than by allowing them to do research on their own.
Technology at our school is very limited. This Chromebook will be shared among all students allowing them to access the information they need.
