I have 18 students in my class this year, and they are such a vibrant, sassy, and exciting group of students! They are genuinely happy when coming into the classroom and participate without prompt. They live in a low-income district where learning in the classroom isn't their only challenge. Many are faced with personal and family issues that interfere with their education. Although these students are faced with challenges outside of the classroom, they do their best in the classroom to overcome them.
Students thrive when lessons include technology, and I do my best to include it when I can.
My students are passionate about technology, music, friendships. They love sports and talking, but dislike making others upset.
These Chromebooks will continue to enhance the 21st century learning classroom that I strive to create. My classroom is a place that my students really enjoy. The students research information that not only enhances their knowledge and learning, but their writing as well. Every opportunity in which I can bring in technology to pique my students' interests is an opportunity that I take advantage of.
With these new Chromebooks, my students will be able to research more in-depth topics as they will have access to more technology.
Our school has been blessed with a Chromebook cart to share amongst the 5th grade level team; however, access is limited due to the availability for each class. By increasing the amount of Chromebooks that I have in my classroom, students will have more access and lessons will not necessarily have to revolve around other classrooms schedules.
