Technology and Sensory: Mastering Goals One Objective at a Time
My students need computers to help them achieve their IEP goals to prepare them for after high school. With the high demands of their disabilities, sensory items will help us focus to master their goals.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students come from the west end of Louisville and from a variety of family dynamics and cultures. Each morning they enter the classroom with a smile on their face, multiple high fives, excited for the day ahead of them. Throughout the day we encourage each other to let each and everyone know the sky is the limit. We might be a class of 8, but we strive hard to help each other achieve goals people say are impossible. We are achieving the impossible and getting jobs after college with the help of teachers, parents, and you!
My students do not let their disabilities effect their daily performance or what they will accomplish in the future.
My Project
My students have disabilities ranging from mild to severe. The computers will help my students master their IEP goals of writing by allowing them to type. With job applications being online, it is important for my students to have the tools needed to apply for jobs.
Technology and sensory items will help my students learn and master their goals that some people will say are impossible!
Together as a class we have created this list to help us be more successful, independent, and to achieve what some people say we never can! We want to show people that there is no "dis" in our "ability" to take on the world!
