My students need technology in the classroom on a daily basis. My goal is to provide access to the Chromebooks during their daily workshop time.

My Students

After 19 years of teaching I still look forward to the first day of school. I don't sleep the night before due to the excitement. The new back to school outfit is ready to go. That is how I want my students to feel every time they walk into my classroom, excited for the new day and embracing it.

We are a small rural school with about 500 students from kindergarten to sixth grade.

the school is situated with farmland surrounding it and the river in the distance. The nearest town is about 20 minutes away. Most of the kiddos have grown up with each other and have a true sense of community and family. My students are amazing second graders who are open books when it comes to learning. Within our classroom the kids are supportive learners who encourage each other to do their best.

My Project

The technology piece would be an amazing complement to our classroom. I would be using the Chromebooks on a daily basis during our center times. Students would be able to type responses to questions, compose paragraphs, complete Accelerated Reader tests, work on spelling words, practice math facts and explore other programs our computer teacher recommends.

The classroom will have daily access to technology.

This will allow the students to understand and see the value of technology in their everyday lives. Not all of our students have technology available to them at home, with the Chromebooks technology will be accessible to all students.
