This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The students that I teach come from very low socioeconomic backgrounds with high poverty levels. To some this may sound very bad, but for the most part, they always strive to do their very best and I love each and every one of them. While trying to differentiate instruction, there is a need to have several activities (stations) taking place at once, which means we need an ample amount of supplies.
I also teach many students with special needs.
These students need the opportunity to use technology as well.
My Project
We will use Chromebooks so that students can conduct Science research and work on Math websites such as Khan Academy and Accelerated Math. We are a very small school system, and students do not have the technological resources that they need in order to complete assignments in a timely manner.
Chromebooks will also be used to conduct remediation exercises for whole group instruction.
Students will be able to split themselves into teams and participate in online learning activities such as Quizlet and Kahoot. These interactive websites are fun, yet educational, and students are able to use technology while being actively engaged.
