My students need an iPad Air, to have the ability to work on applications that support learning at varying levels, as well as social stories and identifying feelings and emotions.

My Students

Research with special education students has shown that incorporating technology with learning increases the overall learning experience for varying disability areas. Students with learning disabilities often shown better growth when given a device that utilizes the multiple modalities.

Being a school psychologist and working with students with differing disabilities, technology has proved to increase overall performance in several different ways.

Apple's app store has a vast selection of learning and behavior/emotion applications that support growth.

My Project

Special education students will have the opportunity to use the device in situations that warrant optimal learning by utilizing technology in an attempt to show growth, different skill sets, and to practice learning newer skills using education based applications.

Technology is already impacting overall student learning and growth in a profound way.

Special education students who interact more with certain devices are able to more clearly communicate certain skills that they possess but are unable to display with traditional materials. Some applications that Apple has available have the ability to chart and monitor progress, a feature that students truly enjoy as they watch their own growth!
