Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students in my classroom range from Kindergarten to fourth grade. They are all in Special Education with a range of disabilities such as learning disabilities, autism, ADHD, other health impairment, and intellectually disabled. Most of my students come from low income families. It is hard for them to get the support they need because of this.
My students love to learn but struggle in the regular classroom setting.
They love coming into my classroom for small group because the work is on their ability level and they are successful. I love seeing the smiles on their faces when they succeed!
My Project
My students need headphones and wireless mice to access the education software on our computers. Our students will use these to learn sight words, letter sounds, reading comprehension skills, and math skills. These skills are areas that my students struggle with. Working on these skills independently at their own pace helps reinforce what the students are learning and help them feel successful. This will change our students' lives for the better. They will love school and feel success at an early age - having fun while learning!
Your generous donation to our project will improve our Special Education classroom by building a stronger reader and increasing math skills.
