This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Have you every wanted to make the most out of every moment in a child's education? Well, Technology 101.. is a way of making that possible with a HP laptop, speakers, wireless mouse and Microsoft Office programs for my students.
My students come from diverse backgrounds, cultures and nationalities.
They enjoy learning and are highly interested in technology. Technology is instrumental in their overall learning experience. This is the age of technology and they are living in it. Even at this young age, they must know the basic workings of a computer. We will use the HP laptop to ensure they acquire that knowledge.
My Project
The Technology 101 project will allow my students a greater opportunity to use the computer as a part of daily instruction. The HP laptop will also be used for individual projects and in learning groups. Since the laptop is portable it will be more accessible to those who like to work independently on the rug, on the floor, by the window or outside on the benches.
There are so many things we can do with this gift, for example, my students will be able to take field trips around the school and type their notes, play interactive learning games, communicate and collaborate on projects with other students, do research and publish stories. As the entire class develops research skills, the speakers will be utilized to discovery audio media through United Streaming and other similar types of media. The students also need the Microsoft Office Programs as a means to create and document their work and demonstrate what they have learned.
