My students need the best technology available in the classroom to become the most successful members of the community that they can be. We need chrome books.
For the most part, many of my students come from low income families. Some even only have access to computer and other technology when they are at school. Even internet is limited to a vast amount of the students I teach. We are a Title I school. The engagement of my students increases greatly when technology is involved.
It is my goal to increase the engagement of my students so that it helps them reach their greatest potential as a learner and a successful member in our community.
As a teacher, I feel like it is my job to give all I have to be able to try to get whatever it takes to try to help them become successful. When we invest in our children, we invest in our future. There is not a better feeling for a teacher to get than to see the light bulb come on after a student finally understands a problem they have been working on a for a long time, or for students to become a successful member in society after spending years in school with you learning what it takes to be successful.
My Project
Students must be able to complete several tasks throughout the year on computers even though we are limited to the amount of technology they can practice on throughout the year. If we were to get more Chromebooks in the room, they would become more efficient students on the computers. So many doors would be opened to my students. Also, there are several apps and other programs that can be used on computers that can help differentiate instruction for the students in the classroom so that they can work on the skills and objectives that are more personalized for their needs. All students do not learn on the same levels or at the same rate. The Chromebooks would assist in the effort to more individualize learning in the classroom to accommodate for those differences.
