My Students

The students in my kindergarten class are like most other kids. They enjoy recess, lunch, and going home at the end of the day. What they fail to mention is how much they have been learning through their own exploration, art projects, and the stories we hear. These students have experienced many things living in the Fruitvale community and with that, they bring lived experiences and stories that help shape the person they are becoming.

Students learn the basics in kindergarten and we are learning the basics on becoming good people.

Through the use of social-emotional literature and mindfulness practices, we have been able to create an environment where students are able to express gratitude, appreciation and love for one another.

My Project

For this project, I have added some items that will create a joyous classroom environment where students are able to learn that play into their many bits of intelligence. For students who need more visuals, the projector allows me to show students in ways that I am unable to. By gaining visual access we can visit sites, travel the world, and see things as vivid if we were in person all from the comfort and safety of our classroom.

I believe that as our world is adapting and evolving, the way we teach and educate our students should be as well.

Other simple things listed will provide students with options in ways they can learn to better meet them at their level. Headphones provide access to online application use of learning platforms all while not distracting the other students around them.
