Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I have an energetic Kindergarten class! The students in my class are caring, respectful, curious, and enthusiastic about learning. I am a Bilingual teacher on a campus where the majority of my students come from low income families. More than a third of our students are English language learners. Our campus is located at the south tip of Texas, right next to the border wall.
My students are faced with many challenges in and out of the classroom on a daily basis.
Each of my students are special, with unique set of qualities and needs. We are a great team! They enjoy playing and learning together and helping each other to be the best they can be.
My Project
My students are mostly low income and bilingual. They do not have the resources at home to help motivate their learning.
The laptop will enable them to use current technology to inspire them, while also meeting the needs to accommodate my at-risk learners.
They will also be introduced to numerous early literacy skills games to build their foundation for reading as well as, help to build their skills in Math and Science. My students need visual aids to better understand what they are learning. They learn by watching, listening and engaging in interactive activities in the classroom. My students will have access to Smarty Ants, Starfall, Brain Pop and other free apps!
