Our classroom motto is, "Be Kind, Work Hard!" My students show this every day in the way that we work and learn together! This is even re true this year with our classroom being taught on a fully remote basis. My virtual classroom is full of smiling faces ready to learn and be the best that they can be together. Being from a college town, I get the opportunity to work with students from diverse backgrounds. My students have a wide range of ability levels, backgrounds, and interests, and they simply cannot all learn in the same way or with the same materials especially in our ever-changing world.
Providing more opportunities for collaboration, creative expression, and the ability to share their knowledge from an online platform, will greatly benefit my students!
Most of my students face challenges of some sort outside of school, and I want to do all I can to make them feel loved, valued, and successful inside my classroom and give them a place to call their own! Regardless of what this looks like in a fully remote setting!
My Project
To be an effective teacher during distance learning, I need access to quality technology. For me, that is finding the best apple products to support virtual teaching. An Apple pencil and trackpad along with a charging station will all help develop effective video lessons for all academic subjects for distance learning. Whether students are in school or at home they will be able to watch the video on a lesson I instruct as a reinforcement or learn the topic as if they were in the classroom. These tools will allow me the ability to simultaneously record and write on a lesson I created... Every school day I am imparting lessons on Mathematical topics, English Language Arts, ELD/SLD, and Science and Social Studies whenever I can integrate it with the other subjects. I am often doing Read Alouds, playing instructional videos to supplement my instruction, and using online digital resources. I often find myself moving around my dining room table, my living room, and my bedroom. I need the most current technology to provide my students with the high-quality learning that they deserve.
