My Students

My second grade students are eager learners who live in western Colorado and attend a Title I school.

Today, students need to have technology skills in order to succeed in education and beyond.

This year our focus has been on remaining positive and persisting in our daily learning with a growth mindset because we know everyone can learn new things!

We are blessed to have 1:1 Chromebooks in our classroom this year. The challenge is using technology in a meaningful and profound way, not just as a time-filler.

My Project

Good quality classroom headphones are needed so our students can use their Chromebooks to their greatest capacity. There are some amazing apps where students can respond to each others' work. They can record their ideas and thinking, too. However, without headphones this is not possible.

Everyone knows that getting a 7-year-old's attention is not easy.

Using technology is a major factor in not only getting their attention, but getting them to work to their full potential, as well. Students can hone their math skills, respond to reading, and even create STEM projects to share using a computer with headphones.
