My students need iPads to help with literacy skills as they do best when using technology.
This project expired on May 15, 2018.
Hooray! This project is fully funded
My students are enrolled in a Title 1 school, where all students receive free-and-reduced meals. Most students are English Language Learners.
My students benefit from receiving small group instruction; they learn through the use of technology, visuals, auditory and sensory input.
When given choices between a hardcover book or online version, my students are more inclined to select learning through the use of technology and a special seat. The special seat allows them to concentrate and gives them a sense of ownership.
My students currently share one iPad and look forward to having an opportunity to engage in interactive literacy sites. The iPads will help my students with increasing their attention span and eye-hand coordination.
Learning with the use of technology in my classroom has increased student motivation and we have seen them learn many new concepts.
Students look forward to literacy centers as they have the opportunity to use of the different interactive learning sites located in the tablet. Although we will continue to use textbooks and books, it is important that my students are exposed and know how to navigate the different literacy sites that are available to free of charge.
