I am so thankful to have such a diverse group of students who can contribute different perspectives to our learning.
Many of students are also English Language Learners and may require additional strategies to achieve their academic goals. Thankfully, I work for a school district that provides some resources to parents to help establish good habits for learning but there are always many families that cannot participate, leaving classroom teachers like myself to fill in the gap. My class' diversity also extends into the types of educational experiences that they experience at home. Where some children may have some preschool before joining me in Kindergarten, many students may have no or limited academic experiences before joining my class. With all the differences they all enter my classroom with, I hope that I can meet their needs and interests to encourage them to become lifelong learners and share my excitement!
My Project
These fantastic resources will along my students to get more hands on experiences to enhance their skills in math, STEM and language arts. So many of my students are desperate for opportunities to use technology and these tools will allow them to play through their learning experiences. The Osmos will allow my students to manipulate letters and numbers to solve problems with our iPads. A bluetooth microphone will provide my students a fun platform to present their monthly projects. In addition, the great new read aloud books offer students a new perspective to learn about their impact in the world and how they can accomplish big goals in their future. The more learning they can accomplish while having fun the better!
