Technology in the classroom has become a very important part of our learning. Students are required to take tests on line and learn various technical skills. Many students come to me with no computer experience.
My students are second graders with lots of energy.
Our school is a Title 1 school with low income. Most students have free or reduced lunch. The students lack computers at home and most do not utilize the public library. Students are eager to learn new skills.
My Project
Our district is using a new science curriculum this year called Project Lead the Way.
We need wiggle chairs, tablet, and an easel. I want to use the Galaxy tablet to enhance learning in this area. Of course, the tablet will also be great for phonics and basic reading skills that many need. The wiggle chairs will allow my students to move while they are learning.
My students will have an outlet for their energy and have the ability to move without interrupting others' learning.
The tablet will allow us to grasp the technology skills they lack and incorporate the new science curriculum.
