My Students

We feel we are missing out on this wonderful opportunity to access computer programs that would help us with our learning. Our school is great, but we are lacking in technology. Most of my students do not have computers or internet in their homes. I teach in a low-income/high poverty school district. My students are faced with my challenges both in and out of the classroom. Having computers in the classroom will give them access to a whole new level of learning.

My students are hungry for technology.

I have 22 second graders that love working on computers. They are an active group who are ready to learn, but tired of doing work on paper. We do have four computers in our classroom, but they are very old and slow! They are a lot of computer programs that they would love to work on doing group time, but we need more computers.

My Project

My class of 22 eager learners need computers. We have some old computers and laptops that barely work. We have so many computer programs that we could use to help my students learn, but can not use because our computers are just to old.

By funding this project, you will be giving my students the chance to use and learn from computers.

They will be able to access computer programs such as Accelerated Reading, KidBiz, and other programs that will help with their reading comprehension and increase their reading fluency. For math, we have Accelerated Math and math fluency programs that will increase their knowledge of math.

It is also important for my students to learn how to use a computer. Many of my students do not have computers at home, so my classroom is the only access they have to technology.
