Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Two of our self contained classroom serve children with intellectual disabilities and autism. Living skills are incorporated into many subjects and caring for materials is an essential lesson.

iPads are used throughout the day in teaching and practice but they are difficult to keep organized and safe from day to day.

A Technology Center in one location in each classroom would be a clear way to teach and foster the care of classroom technology. This will easily translate into the care of personal materials at home and places outside of school.

My Project

IPads are used daily in the Skills for Living and Learning class and Pre-Schoolers Achieving Learning Skills room. The special needs students are learning how to care for school tools but they do get banged around often and keeping them organized and ready for use is a challenge for our teachers.

Tech Tubs give the students and the teachers neat and efficient spots for charging and storing throughout the day and after hours.

Organizational skills are part of the living skills that are taught every day and since iPads are so valuable to them, it is a great fit in teaching them to care for the things they love.
