Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In the middle of the valley, I want my students not to just climb mountains but move them. The students in our class come from low socioeconomic backgrounds and many of their families are English language learners. One hundred percent of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Despite everything that one might consider a disadvantage, we try to instill hard work, we encourage them to dream big, and we teach kindness in order for them to overcome their challenges and be successful lifelong learners who will pay it forward.
We are a fifth grade class with big hopes and dreams.
In their final year of elementary school, our students are leaders on campus - role models and peer supporters. While still learning valuable content such as reading, writing, and math, students are learning soft skills such as proper handshaking, how to carry on a conversation and how to ask questions.
My Project
We are trying to give our kids a purposeful education during an uncertain time. These tech tools will help deliver distance learning lessons and communicate with the students and parents. These tech tools will make a difference in my students' learning because they will be used as teaching tools to support our distance learning lessons. The tools will be used to create video lessons for students, read-alouds, and interactive learning.
We are all adapting to new learning and trying the best we can with what we have!
These tech tools will also be used as learning supports next school year. Students will be able to create videos of the learning, complete research and use the tools as resources for their own learning.
