My students are fun, creative, energetic, and excited to come to school each day! The school is located in an economically diverse rural area where 22 percent of the student population receives free and reduced lunches. It is designed with an open classroom concept with eight rooms that surround an open area. This central working area encourages cross grade level collaboration and provides opportunities to accommodate multiple learning styles but also can provide some challenges with noise.
My mission is to motivate our students and meet students unique needs while making learning comfortable and fun.
My Project
Technology is an awesome resource in teaching today's students! We are blessed to have a cart where students can have their own computer during assigned times. Unfortunately, we don't have individual headphones and mice.
It would be great to have a class set of headphones and mice right in my classroom for students to use!
It's hard to expect families to provide these tools for their children. Having these tools available, would help them stay focused on their computer and not be distracted by the noise around them.
I work hard to find special websites that foster learning and provide high interest level. Students enjoy reading and researching topics at their individualized reading level. They are energized by many of math games that test and challenge their skills. Technology can facilitate amazing learning!
