Mrs. H. from Rembert SC is requesting computers & tablets through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need tablets, an iPad stand, an iPad stylus pen, a charging dock, a Bluetooth speaker, and USB charging backpacks to support our technology initiative.

Technology is definitely being integrated into classrooms and my classroom is no exception. After attending several technology workshops and being challenged, by my students, to incorporate technology into my reading intervention classroom, I am starting to see the benefits of adding technological resources into our reading lessons.
I teach at a small, rural Title I school where 100% of our students participate in the free or reduced-price breakfast and lunch program.
I have the pleasure of teaching remedial reading to a diverse group of third, fourth, and fifth grade students. As a reading interventionist, I am charged with designing and facilitating weekly lessons and activities for students reading below grade level.
My intervention lessons are designed to be paper and pencil. However, after attending several technology workshops, I am on a mission to incorporate technology into my reading intervention lessons. The technology initiative will target ESL, not met, and at-risk students in my classroom.
Through your donation, I will be able to enrich my teaching and differentiate students' learning at the same time.
Using the Fire Tablets, students will conduct research, practice fluency drills, and read eBooks. The students will use the Bluetooth speaker with our iPad to project the sound from online lessons and play music to help us learn. Students will also use the tablets and speaker to connect to the Echo Dot to ask Alexa questions. Students will use the stylus pen to take and share individual or group notes and art on the iPad. The USB backpacks will be used to keep our devices safe while allowing us to travel (field trips) and still maintain charging capabilities. The ottomans will serve three purposes: they will allow us to create seating for a separate gaming area, they will allow us to make room on our bookshelves by storing gaming materials, and they will allow students to have easy access to additional resources after they have finished their assignments.
The additional technological components will change my students' learning experiences by supplementing our existing literacy program. This will allow me to meet the diverse needs of all of my students by giving them the opportunity to learn in a digital way.
