My students in our Title I school come from very diverse cultural, ethnic, and socio-economic backgrounds. Many are 1st or 2nd generation US citizens. Although their needs and interests vary greatly, they all have one thing in common: a love for learning!
Like many districts across our country, my school district is doing distance learning for the foreseeable future. While they have gone above and beyond providing Chromebooks and hotspots to make this accessible for our students, teachers have been left to fend for themselves.
I need a new laptop, so I can teach from my classroom more often.
I have been sharing my personal computer with my daughter. Her district-provided Chromebook does not allow her to access her classes that use certain platforms, despite many troubleshooting attempts. This means I have to teach from home.
Additionally, having a touch screen computer will make it easier for this old dog to navigate the many new tricks she has been having to learn! My students' distance learning experience will be much more enjoyable if their teacher isn't fumbling with the mouse, trying to figure out which tab/app/button she needs to click on next!
Thank you so much for your consideration and support!
