Eager, enthusiastic, and curious. These are my 7th graders! They are exploring, building, and creating during problem-based lab experiences as they encounter science. They live in a technology based world. Since a vast majority of my students do not have access to computers at home, giving them access at school will better prepare them for this technological world of work they are facing soon enough.
Technology, such as Chromebooks, empowers students and fosters independence, while allowing access to an unlimited amount of resources.
My students have worked so hard this school year and have grown by leaps and bounds. They have questions about every topic I introduce. When you donate to my classroom, you are providing educational opportunities to students who are excited to learn and appreciate every opportunity to do so.
My Project
In order to prepare my students for tomorrow's world, they must not only have a grasp on how technology fuels careers, but they must also be well rounded students that can work in a group setting to communicate and problem solve. Another Chromebook will add to the long term goal of a class set of 25 Chromebooks for students to complete coding projects in Scratch, research STEM projects, and complete enrichment programs.
Currently, my students share five Chromebooks or must wait their turn for the computer lab that we share with the entire middle school.
With class sizes that range from 18 to 29 students each class period, sharing a small station of Chromebooks is not ideal. Adding towards our classroom set will encourage the students and help tech our classroom out!
