This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students yearn for interactive, engaging lessons and methods for practicing math skills.
My students work hard on a daily basis, and I want to reward them by providing fun, interactive ways for practicing their math skills.
Some of my middle school students still struggle with multiplication facts, and I know they would be excited to practice them using this technology, as well as this game.
My Project
My students will use the document camera to quickly show off their work. They only have 1 hour in their math class each day, so having students put problems on the board and critique each others work is just not time efficient. A document camera would allow students to share their work and give suggestions to peers in a much quicker manner.
The iPads would allow my students access to several great apps that can be used in the math classroom setting--nearpod, plickers, multiplication facts, dirt bike proportions. My students are eager to use technology in the classroom, but we need the money to acquire it. iPads are handy and can be used daily by students for enrichment as well as reinforcement. The possibilities are endless!
My students enjoy math playing games with their peers, so Figuro would be a great addition to our classroom. My students deserve to have these awesome resources in the classroom!
I know by having these resources my students will be more excited and engaged in our daily lessons.
I've had iPads in the classroom at my previous school, and I've seen how they can complement instruction in the classroom. Technology speeds up processes in the classroom allowing for more learning to be done by students. These things will be an incentive for students to work harder, show off their skills, and help one another achieve greatness!
