Our students at SES are involved in a blended learning environment. This means they are equipped with their own Chromebook and use technology throughout the day to support strong teaching practices.
We want to go back to basics in a high-tech learning learning environment!
One aspect of our day that is powered down is our independent reading time. This time is non-negotiable and our students are becoming life long readers because of it. Our students are asking for newer texts for our classroom library that provide high engagement for today's readers.
Our students at SES are involved in a blended learning environment. Changes in education have given our students access to the world. My teaching has improved due to the integration of apps, websites, and online tools.
One thing that hasn't changed, is our love for independent reading time.
This time is protected everyday and we have worked to help our students better understand themselves as readers. Our students are asking for highly engaging texts that are fresh and relate to their interests. We are also asking for small, plastic crates to create a library that is inviting and organized.
