Without a way to efficiently share student work, review the steps to a math problem or share technology sources, my students frequently get "lost" and are not able to stay focused on the lesson.
The Peruvian Proverb, "Little by litte, one walks far" is posted above our classroom door.
My students have not had a consistent classroom teacher until I started at the school in November. They haven't been able to count on other adults in their classroom because the first three teachers left them. I am, however, dedicated to each of my twenty students and will be there to provide the best education possible for them until their last day in my classroom. My students are ones from a simple life. Nearly 100% of the families at the school qualify for free and reduced lunch. Our school is small and very diverse.
With the amazing gift of a document camera, my students would be able to share their work with the class, see each step to solving a math problem and save trees by reducing the numbers of copies needed. This technology will also enable me to better meet the needs of my visual learners in the classroom as well as provide excellent enhancement of any lesson for the English language learners in my classroom as well as the students that are easily distracted or frustrated.
My students really do love to learn but they are easily frustrated when they feel overwhelmed.
Using a document camera in the classroom would greatly benefit their ability to stay focused on the lesson and feel involved in the learning process. Thank you for ANY contribution you are able to make to help my students!
