Tech for Silhouette Cameo

Help me give my students access to a laptop needed to create t'shirts. The laptop is needed for the use of the Silhouette Cameo & software that I was recently gifted.

My Students

My school is a Title 1 Middle School serving 460 students. I am the librarian and I'm one of a few people at my school that get the wonderful opportunity to service and see all of the students. My school serves students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. During the pandemic, many of my students didn't get a chance to leave their homes, so anxiety and depression set in because of the isolation.

My students are very special to me.

I would like to combat the negative that some of my students face every day with positivity at school.

My Project

A very kind and generous person has recently purchased a silhouette cameo, a heating press, and other required items for me to create t'shirts for my students.

You may ask yourself, why do I need a laptop?

I will need to install the software for the silhouette cameo on a laptop in order to use the cameo. Unfortunately, I am not allowed to install anything on my work device.

I will be making t'shirts for my student library helpers and also for other students in my school as reading incentives. I will also create other reading incentives using the cameo. My student library helpers will help me with the design of the t'shirts. When using a silhouette cameo, the possibilities are endless. I will also use the laptop to upload and store creative projects that my students will be making on the iPads from my previous DonorsChoose Projects.
