Help me give my students an updated Technology Lab! We need a color printer, Ethernet wires, a 128gb thumb drive and materials to re-image all our computers to make everything updated and new!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am a newly appointed STEM teacher with 10+ years of experience as an early childhood general education teacher. I teach in a high needs, Title One, school. Our school is new, sixth year in, replacing a school that has phased out. WE HAVE TO STAND OUT!
My students are mostly from shelters or foster homes in the area, which are all riddled with gang violence, drugs and guns.
This creates a very transient population for our school and a hardship on our dedicated staff. Our children have seen and experienced more in their short little lives than most of us could dream of in our worst nightmares.
Despite this, I want to inspire them to be better and do better. The ability to open their eyes and show them that there is more out there in the world is my goal for this school year! "A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops." ~Henry Adams
My Project
These materials will make a huge difference for my students! With these materials I can re-image all of our desktops and laptops to make them fresh and updated! I want to set up an imaging corner and teach the students how to update computers so it becomes a teachable moment as well.
With a new color printer we can bring our writing pieces to life!
Our bulletin boards will look so inviting when we are able to print in color.
Lastly, our goal is to become a Google School, so the purchase of our first Chromebook will bring us one step closer to achieving that goal.
