The student's in my academic intervention classrooms are some of the hardest working, determined, and creative . They, for one reason or another, are students that are behind the standard, but when given opportunity to learn and engage through effective intervention, they step up to the plate and make astounding strides.
My students are throughout the kindergarten to third grade continuum.
I meet with them outside of their main instruction in small group settings, within their classroom environment. My intention is to increase equity in mathematics and literacy by keeping students within their main learning environment of the classroom, and by providing ample opportunities for them to deepen their conceptual understanding.
My Project
As an intervention specialist I work with a diverse spread of students to close the academic achievement gap. This work is centered on equity, and making mathematics and literacy learning accessible to all students.
Access to appropriate technology encourages engagement and further learning in the content areas that our students are studying.
By having a quality iPad with sufficient storage, 80+ intervention students will be able to access this one device through our intervention services, learn, and save work.
Though technology is but a small part of the greater scope of intervention, it makes a big impact in the learning of our global citizens, teaching a constellation of skills needed for the world they are growing into.
