My students need classroom speakers and an iPad to help them complete innovative projects and engage with experts from all around the world through Skype!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are a highly curious, globally minded bunch who are very participatory and also enjoy kinesthetic activities. Unfortunately, they live in an innovation desert and many students do not get the opportunity to travel and nourish their curiosity about the world.
Many students in my classroom love to interact with technology and use it to help them form their understanding of the world.
With your help, they will be able to do this and be the next inventors, innovators, and designers of the world!
My Project
This project includes new speakers and an iPad, which will help engage students. The iPad will be used as a tool for students to Skype with experts from around the world and create an open-walled environment for learning.
In order to have a successful Skype session, my students need to be able to hear the person from the back of the classroom!
This year we incorporated these Skype sessions into class, but students had difficulty making out what the person was saying. On top of this, a throwable microphone will be purchased as well to elicit strong student questions and ideas. These students deserve a classroom environment which allows them to engage with technology and practice 21st century skills. With your help, we can make this happen!
