Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students respect and care about their learning 100%, unfortunately, society seems to plague them because of their zip-code. Real knowledge has no boundaries, household incomes, races, cultures, etc. My DHS students are driven to succeed, due to the fact that they want to lead the revolution in Compton into the future. Even if I had a 150 page book, I would still not be truly capturing what makes them special. I wake up every morning excited to see what the daily adventure awaits me at DHS with my stellar young adults and scholars!
My Project
Lets be honest, when people begin learning how to use tech, often times we are very timid and scared. Tech has a learning curve that is not steep, yet seems daunting for some. I firmly believe we live in the 21st century that utilizes tech 24/7, so why should our classrooms be any different? In my classroom, we are a 100% digitally based environment (starting this year). While we do make posters, etc., we primarily use Google Products (Sheets, Docs, Slides, Classroom, etc) to better enhance the learning process; therefore, I want to make it easier for my students to accomplish their tasks using District Chromebooks.
USB mice will make their work a lot more user friendly.
They can right click and scroll quickly, rather than shifting and utilizing commands on the keyboard. The mouse helps bridge the students who are not "tech savy" with those that may be more "tech fluent". Help me ensure that all of my students feel empowered to fully utilize their tech resources to the best of their abilities!
