"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn." ~Ben Franklin~
Can you imagine your favorite books coming to life?! Our library needs to start a collection of ereaders in order to engage learners in lifelong reading.
Our students are 21st century learners.
They learn by doing. Visualization, kinesthetic involvement, and teaching others are all ways that increase and expand the learning experience. They remember, understand, apply, analyze, evaluate and create.
They are a diverse population of Pre-K through 6th grade students who attend a brand new charter school in Michigan. We have a large ESL student population. They all love learning through hands-on activities and technology.
Having ereaders (nook colors) will allow our students and teachers access to thousands of interactive and engaging ebooks. The ereaders will help to engage learners, and inspire creativity. Since the ereaders will be used in the library and in small groups, there will be increased opportunity for hands-on learning and technology integration across the curriculum.
Please support our project! Your donation will make a difference in the lives of almost 600 students. The money will give access to ereaders and thousands of ebooks. This will give access to ebooks that our teachers and students can use for years to come.
With the ever evolving technological age, students need the latest tools in their hands.
They already use portable electronic devices in their day to day lives, why not in school? Ereaders will help us grow our library collection tremendously. They will put even more books in the hands of students for many more years.
