As I enter my fifth year at my school, I'm quickly learning that I'll do almost anything for these group of students. They are such an amazing group of people who are teaching me everyday what it means to be a teacher and a human. Every morning when I wake up I'm thankful that our future is in the hands of these bright and caring individuals.
I feel like it is my duty to do what I can to give them every opportunity to succeed.
Every donation, every ounce of help shows them that the world and community does care about them. Being from a high poverty area isn't easy, but these students will always step up to the challenge.
My Project
I've been lucky enough to be supported over and over on Donorschoose and I've been truly grateful. I believe my classroom is finally in a good spot with all the cameras, computers and supplies that have been purchased for me.
Now I'm just asking for a few small things to help bring everything all together.
Speakers to accompany our Rainier Beach News Station so students can hear their finished product on a pair of speakers and not the computer. And a few power strips so I can mount them on the storage rack to charge all our cameras at once. A few extra SD cards so students can take more photos and videos of games, events and assemblies. A tripod to help stabilize those amazing shots the students are getting.
