I work at a beautiful public school in the Philadelphia School District with a very diverse population. Our students come from many different home situations with a vast variety of backgrounds. Regardless of their home lives, the students come to school every day, eager to learn something new. My students are, simply put, amazing! I teach math and science to exceptional fifth grade students. They push me out of my comfort zone and make me want to be a better teacher. We have a lot of exciting activities and projects going on this year and can really use you help.
My Project
Our students are working very hard in math class. We have used many strategies to help them gain the skills they need to succeed in class and understand concepts.
They love learning from each other and participating in small groups.
These materials will support our work with small groups and help our students use peer strategies throughout the lessons. The Easel Board will help us move the small groups around the room and students can have flexibility to learn where they are comfortable. It also will provide the backboard to create Anchor Charts around the room that students can use as resources throughout the unit.
I try very hard to make the lessons come to life in the classroom and these materials will support me with this goal.
