Every student that walks into my classroom brings their own unique background, learning style, personality and passion. Some students may have had opportunities to travel the world while others have had limited access to the world outside of their town. I may find students who are voracious readers and others who are just beginning their journey to literacy; students who dream of becoming an architect, or a teacher, a dancer, or an actor.
The differences that they bring to the table are the things that make our time together eye opening and educational.
They also bring the need for diverse learning opportunities. Because no two students are alike, they each require their own specific set of circumstances to reach their highest potential.
My Project
One of the most important things my students can learn during their time in my classroom is how to work together and accept both winning and losing. The board games from Peaceable Kingdom create engaging situations where students must work together to collectively win or lose the game.
Giving children time to play games that require turn-taking and following rules is so important, not just for learning how to function in the classroom but in life as well.
Utilizing these colorful, well-made games will allow all students to be included and give them the chance to interact with their peers in an enjoyable setting.
