Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I started a cheerleading program, at my elementary school, 2 years ago to help young ladies become well rounded and confident individuals. The cheer squad helps students to become role models who are responsible, reliable, and respectful. This squad also helps the cheerleaders to build communication and teamwork skills.

The cheer squad encourages their peers to work hard in school, to do their best on tests, and to make good choices inside and outside of school.

The cheerleaders participate in multiple events throughout the school year. They have performed at school pep rally's, school district meetings, a drug-free parade, and other events.

My Project

This project is extremely important to our cheer squad. We are a newly developed sport at our school, so we are starting from the bottom. Our goal for the squad is to become a competitive team. There are many materials we need to complete this goal.

The cheerleaders are not funded by our school, booster club, or PTA.

The cheer squad needs these mats to develop and practice skills that are needed to perform at events and to compete in local competitions. Our first priority for our squad is the safety of all the participants on the team. Please help our team to be safe and to succeed at greatness!
