We are a small school in Kailua, Hawaii. There are 200 students from grades K-6. Our students come from a variety of backgrounds from homelessness to military officers. We do not qualify for Title I, so we are in constant need for financial support when it comes to special programs on campus. Our class sizes run from 18-37 students. Our teachers are amazing and we are considered one of the top elementary schools on the island. This program just makes us better!
My Project
Our school is working on providing a new program for next school year. We will be offering to the children a chance to sign up for different racquet sports which we will create teams. The students will then compete against each other and eventually against other nearby schools.
Having the additional gear will help create a new program (team sports) for our students.
The coach will have the opportunity to teach our students how to play different racquet sports (badminton, pickle ball and tennis) as well as having the experience to run tournaments and to keep score of these sports. The racquets and nets will be used throughout the school year.
