Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My second grade class is working together to become Rockstar Writers by the end of second grade! My students are eager to write and need the resources to help them soar. The students in my class come from a high-need community and resources are often scarce.

Currently, my classroom lacks some of the essentials that are useful in order to become a stronger writer. They love to read and writing has recently become a huge part of our day. We need the proper supplies so together we can improve our writing and be Writing Rockstars by the end of the year!

To get our class off to a running start, we are in need of personal Phonics and Spelling Dictionaries as well as personal journals. These supplies will give my students a sense of ownership over their writing. They will also be able to build their own dictionaries that will assist them in the writing process.

Your kindness and generosity will make it possible for my students to reach the heights they deserve. Each of my students has a tremendous amount of potential and your help will insure that their potential is fully reached. Please be a part of our team and help us reach our Writing Rockstars goal!
