My Students

Have you ever had trouble feeling motivated to learn something new or complete tasks? These are challenges my students face everyday. They are not always motivated to learn, play, or complete tasks in the same way as other children. The iPad is a great teaching and motivational tool for my students!

I teach two different programs for preschool students.

One is a developmental preschool class, this year with 12 students with special needs and 6 typically developing peers. There is a wide range of abilities in this group. My other class is an extended day program for children ages 3-5 with autism who require intense one-on-one instruction to learn. Our program is in a K-8 alternative school.

My Project

We have found that using an iPad with our young kids is a great way to motivate them to learn! We can use the iPad to assist us with teaching kids matching skills, color identification, counting, problem solving, and more. In addition, some of our students require extra things to motivate them to participate in activities, but telling them "first work, then iPad" gives a little more incentive to cooperate.

This project is important to us because an iPad would be a valuable teaching/learning tool in our classroom used by many students!

This iPad will be used by up to 30 students this year and more in years to come!
