My Students

My students have a love for learning. They are eager to find new ways to explore the world around us. We live in a small town where it's hard to find funding for items that would advance their learning. Our Walmart has recently closed and we do not have a lot of large businesses in our area anymore. Their parents have to work day and night just to make ends meet. I'm looking for ways to help them enjoy reading more and understand that falling into a good story helps their imagination come alive.

My Project

Every student learns differently and at different paces. Some students learn by visualizing, some by auditory and some learn kinesthetically. I want to be able to allow each student the ability to learn their own way. Some of my students struggle with reading a book to themselves. iPads would allow them to hear stories read aloud so they could understand how to be more fluent readers. This would also allow them to be able to hear sounds they are unsure of and bring the stories to life. Some students love setting down with a good book. I have several books. Some students are so used to technology this would give them the choice.
