This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I have the privilege of educating a group of loving, inquisitive and energetic first graders. My students are very fascinating individuals and are also very street smart. They are one of the lower first grade classes, therefore incorporating a variety of teaching styles is essential to reaching all of my students.

Standing in front of a promethean board and lecturing is definitely not the way to engage my students.

They love to learn through the use of visual aids, music and hands-on activities.

My Project

My classroom is only provided with 4 to 5 computers each year to accommodate 20 or more students. I have chosen to ask for 5 tablets because it will allow me to introduce a couple of fun learning programs to my students that will help build math fluency and enhance their vocabulary skills. These programs will allow for individualized instruction so that my students can learn according to their own pace and abilities.

By donating to our class project, you will be helping me to keep my students engaged in their lessons through the use of fun and meaningful programs.
