My students need 2 iPads, with cases and audio cables, to be able to share listening centers with audiobooks as well as research and learning apps for my ESL students.
My students are growing up in a world fueled by technology, yet they have limited opportunities to interact with it through school. My students are motivated through technology and giving them the opportunities to use and explore will greatly increase their appetite to learn.
I teach grades 6-8 in English Language Arts.
I have reading levels ranging from Kindergarten to high school reading levels. I also have many English Language learners at multiple levels of English proficiency. This technology being available within my classroom will allow for opportunities to really differentiate my teaching and motivate my students to succeed.
My Project
I plan to use the iPads within my classroom for a variety of purposes. Students will be able to use to access audiobooks, as well as multiple learning apps to increase their reading and language proficiencies. Having these tablets along with classroom computers will allow me to use technology as a learning center, and giving my students opportunities to be hands on with technology.
This project will allow me to really reach students at their level giving them multiple opportunities to engage in learning in a fun and interesting way that will motivate them and help them to succeed.
This will make a difference for so many who might not otherwise have an opportunity to interact with the same technology their suburban peers might have access to.
