For my fourth grade students, school is a place where they feel safe to explore new material, share their ideas, learn from mistakes, and collaborate with others. Our classroom is a learning community where students learn from and encourage one another.
No matter their differences, all students experience success through quality individualized instruction.
Through small group instruction and frequent individual conferences, students receive the help they need to reach their potential. Our classroom is very student-centered, with students' interests and motivations at the core. We work together each day to make our classroom a place where everyone feels valued and excited to learn.
My Project
My fourth grade students thrive when they learn with technology. Currently, we are lacking in technology resources that can be utilized in our classroom. An iPad would be a wonderful addition to our classroom, as it could make an extreme difference in the way my students learn and interact with information.
My ultimate goal is to use the iPad to engage students in learning and to help differentiate instruction.
During reading and math workshop, my students primarily work in a small group setting. Through the use of iPad apps, small groups of students can practice skills at their level in a meaningful and fun way. The iPad can also be used to challenge or provide support to students on a more individualized basis, depending on their needs. An iPad would be an amazing instructional tool as well as a motivating resource for my learners.
