My Students

My students are energetic early learners within a large public school in a city with a high poverty rate. Many of my students face challenges in their home lives each day due to low socioeconomic status. All of my students qualify for free or reduced-price meals and have both breakfast and lunch within our classroom. Most of my students are English Language Learners, with Spanish being their home language.

I strive to provide my students with a high-quality classroom environment that supports the development and needs of all students.

Early childhood education plays a crucial role in the development of each individual child's educational future. I feel that it is my responsibility as an early childhood educator to provide my students with these resources needed to promote success.

My Project

With classroom iPads, my students will be able to use apps and websites to have a hands-on method of learning across all subject areas. It is very important that our students build knowledge through the different mediums necessary to succeed in the evolving world of education. These iPads will be used as a center rotation for students to use district wide subscriptions such as Brain Pop Jr, Going Places, and PebbleGo to help better prepare their technology learning skills for the grades to come.

Apps such as PebbleGo and Going Places allow our students to have research at the tip of their fingertips on age appropriate and accessible methods.

Students often seek for independence of learning which is very difficult at a young age on a typical laptop or computer. These iPads allow for students to do independent research on topics, at this young age, to prepare them for their futures in learning.
