I teach at a Title 1 school in Richmond, Virginia. All the students in my school are considered economically disadvantaged and receive free breakfast and lunch. In spite of their challenges, my students view my classroom as a safe place and are always eager and ready to learn.
It is always a joy to see the way their faces light up when they get the opportunity to be actively engaged in what we are doing academically.
My students have passion for the things we are learning about especially when it is related to their own lives or things they are interested in.
Students will more easily be able to use computers to complete assignments, review content, and receive personalized instruction.
My goal is to integrate technology into the curriculum, but that has become difficult with sharing computers within the classroom.
Typically, I have 2 or 3 students to each computer; however, with these four additional Chromebooks, we will be able to accommodate our growing classroom to computers being used in pairs and in half class stations.
My students have loved being able to use the computers in the classroom we have gotten so far and I continue to look for new ways to engage them with technology.
